About 100% Butter French Croissants - 3.5 oz, Unbaked

Croissants have been a staple for French bakeries since 1839, when the first laminated baked goods began appearing in Vienna. Laminating is a process in which dough and butter are layered, rolled, and folded several times before being rolled into a sheet. This creates thin flaky layers of dough separated by air pockets and surrounded by a golden crust. The texture is similar to that of puff pastries.

Our mail order croissants arrive frozen and unbaked. They are prepared in the french style, with 100% butter. Leave frozen until ready to bake.  Once the frozen croissants are baked, they have a golden glow with a light flaky exterior and a moist soft layered interior. Like many French gourmet foods, you'll enjoy the rich buttery taste and texture that melts in your mouth.

Frozen croissants make an easy staple for restaurants, cafés, and homes. Pair with a coffee, espresso, or café au lait and some fresh fruit for a standard simple European breakfast. Slice in half and fill with sandwich fixings for lunch. I love these croissants. They taste just like, if not even better, than croissants we get while in France. They bake up in the oven in minutes and have a crispy exterior, with a soft, fluffy, buttery interior.

Q: Hi- no instructions came with these croissants- what temp do you cook them, and for how long? Thanks!

These are the baking instructions:

  • Place the frozen pastries on a lined baking pan. Do not proof pastries before baking, but bake them directly from freezer to oven.
  • Bake the croissants in a preheated oven. If your oven is equipped with steam injection, inject 15 seconds of steam at the beginning of the baking cycle. Bake pastries at 400°F (200°C) for about 15 minutes for the mini and small pastries, 17 minutes for the medium and 19 minutes for the large or until a rich and deep golden color is attained.
  • Remove pastries from oven. Allow to cool down for 15 minutes. Do not glaze the croissants.


Q: Are your croissants safe for those with life-threatening peanut/tree nut allergies? Or is there a risk of cross-contamination during the dough making process? Thank you,
A: They do not contain peanuts/tree nuts but they are processed on the same assembly line that uses nuts, so cross-contamination might happen.
