Lovely and super easy to make (no baking required!), our Red Velvet Cake Balls With Mascarpone Cream Cheese are the perfect festive treat for the holiday season. The mascarpone makes the cake balls extra luscious, so double the recipe and make plenty to add to your holiday gift baskets.

Red Velvet Cake Balls Recipe Instructions

  • 9×13 inch pan of Red Velvet Cake, baked and cooled
  • 8 oz. Mascarpone cream cheese + 2 tbsp
  • 1 lb. white chocolate chips
  • Red colored sugar, as needed to decorate (optional)

  1. Prepare the Red Velvet Cake Recipe according to recipe direction. Crumble into small pieces into a large bowl. Add the mascarpone cream cheese and mix well. The mixture should be nice and soft - add one or two more tablespoons of mascarpone cheese if needed.
  2. With a small cookie scoop or a small spoon divide the mixture into portion and form small balls, about the size of a quarter, place them on a baking sheet covered with parchment. Refrigerate for 3 hours until cold and firm.
  3. Take them out let them stay at room temperature for 10 min. Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave or double boiler, then dip each cake ball with a fork, carefully setting them back on the tray. Sprinkle with red colored sugar and serve.
