Seven Pepper Spice Mix from Japan, also known as Shichimi Togarashi or Nanami Togarashi, is a popular mix of seven spices.
Spices include a blend of red chili pepper, Japanese pepper (Sanshō), orange peel, black sesame seed, white sesame seed, hemp seed, ginger, seaweed, poppy seed, yuzu peel, rapeseed, and shiso. It has a full bodied, moderately strong heat that passes quickly and is evenly balanced by the citrus from the orange and the earthy ocean notes from the seaweed.
