French Plum Preserve

An artisan French preserves by three-time time Best World Jam Maker champion Francis Miot, this is a wonderful flavor to incorporate to your pantry. It’s made with Questche plums (pronounced Kwetch), a variety that’s also plainly known as French sugar plums or Italian prune plums. It’s a rare plum with a very short season and a very tart, rich and intense flavor. Miot blends the plums with pure cane sugar and cooks them down in copper cauldrons to ensure the flavor and texture is fully translated into the preserves.

This plum jam is delicious to spread over your morning toast, English muffin or a freshly-baked scone or pastry, but you should also give it a try on a cheese plate. Put a dollop over a piece of fresh goat cheese, or a crumble of blue cheese. The contrast of tart, sweet, salty and savory will burst in your tongue and really enhance the experience. Plum Preserves are also wonderfully to bake with, so try them in lattice pies, plump hand pies or even top a tasty cheesecake. The texture of these preserves is thick and chunky, filled with yummy little pieces of fruit.
