Chocolate Covered Halloween Apples Recipe Instructions

Ingredients
  • 1.75 lbs. bittersweet couverture chocolate, 70%
  • 6 Granny Smith Apples
  • 1 cup chopped pistachios
  • 1 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1 cup coconut flakes

Directions
  1. Make sure to pick firm, fresh apples without any bruises. Take long wooden or bamboo skewers and pierce the core, so you have a firm grip.
  2. Melt the chopped chocolate in a double boiler or bain marie. You can chose to temper if you want (follow instructions here) which will get you a glossy finish and nice snap. Take each apple by the skewer and dip in the melted chocolate, swirling to coat fully, letting excess drip into the bowl. Dip into nuts or coconut flakes, then place in a pan lined with parchment paper to cool off. Make sure they're cool before serving.
