Onion - Flakes, Shredded

Dried onion flakes are simply dehydrated onions with no added salts or spices. They are chopped and dried into convenient flat shreds. Dried minced onions have all of the sweetness and flavor of fresh onions, but they are a little less sharp and have a little less bite than fresh raw onions.

Keep onion flakes on hand as a pantry essential. They can be stored for up to a year. To release the full sweet caramel flavors, before using toast lightly until they begin to turn golden. They are perfect in soups and stews, in dry rubs, and baked into breads and bagels. Sprinkle them on pizza, sandwiches, and hummus.

One table spoon of onion flakes is equivalent to one small fresh onion.
