About Round Tart Shells - 2.5 Inch, Sweet

Whether you are making fruit tarts or tiny pies these small to medium sized tartlets from Tatin are a perfect addition to your professional desserts. Tart shells are 2.5 inches wide, and shaped like a pie crust with a narrow bottom and wider top. Scalloped edges provide an extra dainty detail. They are made in France with a sweet dough ideal for dessert tarts. Pair two or three on a plate for a classic sweet course, or serve along side a scoop of ice cream, or a fruit and cheese spread for a more varied offering.

Whether you are a professional chef in a busy kitchen, a serious home cook, or a high volume caterer it is easy to save time with these pre-baked small tart shells. Put away the brioche tins and tartlet pans. You can even set aside the baking sheets. These tartlets are not frozen! They arrive pre-cooked and ready to use, and should be stored at room temperature until filled.

Use these tartlets to make tiny pies like lemon merengue, key lime, vanilla custard, chocolate mousse, blackberry, strawberry, peach, pumpkin, or pecan. These shells will make your tarts pop! Tart shells should be filled the day of serving, for best results.

Product Questions And Answers
Q: How long do the tartlets last? Do they need to be kept refrigerated? Thank you
A: Typically these tarts will have a best before date of around 3 or 4 months after the date you receive them. However, they may last several months longer than this best before date without significant quality loss. If they get a little stale, they can be toasted in the oven to refresh them.
We suggest storing at room temperature, as refrigeration may lead to them getting softer due to moisture absorption, not to mention picking up smells from other ingredients in the fridge.
