Almond Paste, Marzipan

A mix of fine ground almonds, blended with sugar and water, almond paste is an essential ingredient for bakers and pastry chefs. A type of almond paste, Marzipann is slightly different, with a lot of added sugar (and sometimes also egg whites and other ingredients), molded into a denser consistency that can be rolled into shapes.
